10月14日，通用汽车将因调整电动车生产计划而计提16亿美元费用。
公司周二在监管文件中表示，这笔费用中包括约12亿美元的非现金减值及其他费用，系因调整电动车产能所致。其余部分主要涉及与电动车投资相关的合同取消费用及商业和解，将对现金流产生实际影响。特朗普政府于上月底取消了电动车税收抵免，并实际上废除了燃油经济性与排放标准，促使车企更倾向于销售利润更高的汽油车、减少电动车产量。
通用在文件中表示：“鉴于近期美国政府的政策变化，包括终止部分电动车购车消费者税收激励以及放宽排放标准，我们预计电动车的普及速度将放缓。”
受此消息影响，通用汽车盘前跌近3%。
