BLOCKFIN HLDG (00888) has released its interim results for the 2026 fiscal year, posting a net loss of HK$21.512 million. This marks a year-on-year reduction in losses of 23.7%, while revenue contracted by 30.3% to HK$10.001 million. The company reported a basic loss per share of 1.51 HK cents.

The narrower deficit was primarily driven by the absence of any net unrealized loss recognized on an investment in a private equity fund during the first half of 2026, compared to approximately HK$11.6 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. Additionally, research and development expenses declined by roughly HK$9.1 million, and other operating costs fell by about HK$6.2 million, largely due to reductions in consulting fees, legal and professional charges, and miscellaneous expenses. Staff costs also decreased by approximately HK$3.2 million.

These favorable factors were partially offset by several items. A net impairment provision on financial assets of around HK$0.1 million was recognized in the first half of 2026, versus a net reversal of approximately HK$7.0 million in the prior-year period. Furthermore, the company recorded a loss on disposal of subsidiaries of about HK$5.6 million in the current period, contrasting with a gain of roughly HK$2.8 million from similar disposals in the first half of 2025.
