On December 24, the Gaozhou Distribution Station of the Maoming-Xinyi Trunk Line, operated by the National Pipeline Network Group's South China Company, officially commenced gas supply to the Jinshan Industrial Park Clean Energy Infrastructure Project (Gaozhou Xiexin Power Plant). This marks a significant advancement in the implementation of the "County-to-County Project" in the Maoming region.

As a key livelihood project in Guangdong Province, the Maoming-Xinyi natural gas pipeline is a crucial component of the "County-to-County Project" connecting Maoming and Yun'an. Spanning approximately 88.7 kilometers with an annual designed gas transmission capacity of 450 million cubic meters, it serves as a major energy artery linking Maonan, Gaozhou, Xinyi, and other counties. The Gaozhou Xiexin Branch, an important extension of this trunk line in Gaozhou, has successfully begun operations, ensuring seamless connectivity between the main pipeline network and end-users—a strategic milestone in enhancing regional energy infrastructure.

The Gaozhou Xiexin Gas Distributed Energy Project is a vital clean energy initiative for the Jinshan Industrial Park, serving dual roles in power and heat supply while acting as an "energy engine" for local industrial upgrading. Initially, the project relied on LNG transported via tanker trucks, which incurred high logistics costs and faced disruptions due to weather and traffic conditions, posing challenges to stable and reliable gas supply and limiting operational efficiency.

The commencement of gas supply from the Gaozhou Distribution Station has transformed the energy supply landscape, providing diversified support for local development. By eliminating fuel transportation bottlenecks, the direct pipeline gas supply ensures secure and stable power generation and heating operations. This breakthrough establishes a robust energy network for key industrial enterprises in the Jinshan Industrial Park, optimizing the regional business environment and serving as a cornerstone for attracting investments and fostering sustainable industrial growth.

From an environmental perspective, the successful gas supply marks the completion of the "last mile" from the trunk pipeline to the industrial park, enabling the Gaozhou Xiexin Power Plant to leverage the efficiency and cleanliness of pipeline natural gas. Compared to LNG truck transport and traditional energy sources, the project will significantly reduce annual emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and carbon dioxide, improving regional air quality and supporting Gaozhou's green development and carbon neutrality goals.

On the industrial front, stable clean energy supply injects new momentum into Gaozhou's industrial restructuring and low-carbon transition. It promotes synergistic upgrades across upstream and downstream industries, revitalizing green industrial development, while laying the groundwork for expanding gas supply networks to neighboring industrial zones and urban residents. This initiative will further drive the transition to clean energy in western Guangdong, bolstering high-quality regional development.
