During the Fourth Meishan City Satellite Application Industry Development Conference, Huanti Smart Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the "Hundred-Thousand Project" commercial satellite alliance. The plan outlines the launch of 100 satellites from Meishan in the future and details associated supply chain requirements. The alliance also announced its goal to expand the number of satellites available for dispatch to 1,000 by 2030, extending an invitation for global partners to join in building this ecosystem.
Key Developments Announced
Several significant milestones were announced at the event. The Sichuan High-Resolution Center's Meishan Branch was officially inaugurated, establishing a local application channel for high-resolution Earth observation data.
The conference also saw the release of multiple outcomes: the publication of the "China Remote Sensing Application Development Blue Book (2026)"; the unveiling of the world's first high-precision carbon constellation, marking a major breakthrough in space-based green and low-carbon monitoring; and the release of two lists detailing project and application scenario demands for the satellite application industry in Meishan Tianfu New Area, fully revealing opportunities for local industrial collaborative development.
Strategic Goals and Current Progress
The conference aimed to promote the substantive and in-depth development of the satellite application industry, accelerating the construction of a complete industrial chain ecosystem described as "satellites in the sky, ground stations on Earth, and application chains in place." This effort seeks to establish Meishan as a nationally leading satellite industry demonstration city, contributing to the national space power strategy and the high-quality development of Sichuan's commercial aerospace sector.
In recent years, Meishan has seized major strategic opportunities, including the development of commercial aerospace and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, taking the lead in Sichuan to lay out its satellite application industry. Currently, Meishan has completed the first phase of the "Huanti Constellation" network. This remote sensing satellite constellation consists of 14 optical and Saratoga Investment (Synthetic Aperture Radar, or SAR) satellites. It has cumulatively acquired remote sensing imagery covering an area exceeding 600 million square kilometers, with applications in high-standard farmland management, urban governance, and disaster prevention and mitigation.
This year, Meishan plans to launch an additional six satellites, further solidifying its position as the city with the largest number of commercial remote sensing satellites in southwestern China.
