On February 15, Zhang Shuihua signed another sports brand endorsement, becoming a sponsored runner for the brand. This comes just days after she signed with a sports eyewear brand on February 10, her 35th birthday, marking her second major commercial partnership in a short period.
On February 10, Zhang Shuihua celebrated her 35th birthday and simultaneously announced her signing with a sports eyewear brand. This deal represented her first commercial collaboration since transitioning to a full-time runner, generating significant discussion within the running community. Now, after only a brief interval, Zhang has secured another endorsement with a major sportswear company.
According to previous reports, Zhang Shuihua was formerly a nurse at a hospital in Fuzhou, Fujian province. On August 31, 2025, after winning the domestic women's championship at the Harbin Marathon, an emotional interview in which she expressed hope for her supervisor's support in adjusting her work schedule sparked controversy. Subsequently, her sponsorship with 361° was terminated.
On the evening of January 2, 2026, Zhang Shuihua, known as the "Fastest Nurse," posted a video on her personal channel announcing her resignation. The video's caption stated, "I have no regrets about the path I've taken, and I do not fear the new journey ahead. These years have been good, but it is time for me to move forward. Regardless of the reason for leaving, it has become a part of me. I wish for a smooth road ahead, still warm and bright."
That same evening, Pengpai News confirmed through Zhang's husband that she had indeed resigned, noting that the reasons for her departure were as stated in her video post. In a separate report by The Beijing News, Zhang herself responded that she had let go of her burdens, acknowledging that she needed to go through this phase. She expressed fondness for her hospital work and uncertainty about whether she would return to nursing.
