Alphabet stock jumped 2.5% to new high, pushing market capitalization closer to the $5 trillion milestone.
Berkshire said in a regulatory filing that it more than tripled its share stake in Google parent Alphabet GOOGL.O, which at $16.6 billion has become one of its largest common stock investments.
