On July 8th, the winners of the 2025 National Science and Technology Awards were announced in Beijing. A total of six projects with participation from Guangxi-based organizations and individuals were honored, including three first prizes.

Among the three first-prize winners in the National Science and Technology Progress Award category, Guilin University of Electronic Technology contributed to the project "Key Technologies for Nanometrology of Quantized Optical Lattice Constants and Applications in Integrated Circuits." This work provides a nanoscale metrology standard for integrated circuit manufacturing, establishing a self-developed benchmark for China in the field of nanoscale measurement.

Liuzhou OVM Machinery Co., Ltd. participated in the "Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST)" project, successfully overcoming critical challenges related to cable fatigue. This breakthrough provides a solid foundation for the long-term stable operation of the "China Sky Eye" telescope.

Zhao Yunxiang of Guangxi Yangxiang Co., Ltd. was involved in the "Breeding Technology for Chinese-lineage Breeding Pigs and the Creation and Application of Core Genetic Resources" project. This work contributes Guangxi's strength to promoting China's self-sufficiency and control in swine genetic resources. This marks another National Science and Technology Award for Zhao Yunxiang following his win in 2023.

A project on "Key Technology for Continuous Polymerization Melt Direct Spinning of High-Performance Polyamide 66 Industrial Filament and Its Application in High-End Tires," with participation from China Chemical Group Shuguang Rubber Industry Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd., achieved a second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. contributed to the "Intelligent Control Technology for Resistance Welding Quality of Thin-Walled Structures and Its Application in Carrier Equipment Manufacturing," also securing a second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Yang Xiaolong (from Guangxi University of Science and Technology) participated in the "Key Technology for Magnetic Micro-Nano Particle Sealing in Extreme Environments and Its Application in Nuclear Energy, Aerospace, and Other Fields," which won a second prize in the National Technology Invention Award.

These award-winning projects span multiple strategic and cutting-edge fields, from the cable network of the "China Sky Eye" to the nanoscale rulers for integrated circuits, and from independent breeding of Chinese-lineage pigs to breakthroughs in domestic production of high-end tires and intelligent carrier equipment. The areas covered include quantum metrology, major engineering projects, modern agriculture, advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing, and nuclear and space technology.

The increase in both the number of awards and the depth of participation in these projects reflects the steady enhancement of Guangxi's scientific and technological innovation capabilities.
