A compact station, seemingly small, overflows with the boundless warmth of the neighborhood; uncomplicated and unfussy, it supports the everyday life of residents. Recently, the "Yi Man Fang" neighborhood station in the Dongfang International Plaza residential area of Kunshan Development Zone processed its first housekeeping service order. Mr. Cha, a resident of Building 7, came to the station to report a repair for smoke backflow in his range hood's ductwork, and a dedicated maintenance technician provided on-site service within half an hour. "The range hood was already out of its warranty period, and I was worried about finding unreliable repairmen online. Now, having a service station right at my 'doorstep' is truly both convenient and reliable!" Mr. Cha said with a smile.
As modern life becomes increasingly convenient, with groceries available via delivery and minor daily queries answerable by AI, truly棘手 problems still require a human touch for assistance. The "Yi Man Fang" neighborhood station represents a new initiative by Yangpu Community, Qingyang Urban Management Office, implementing the municipal "Work Guidelines for Party Building-led Familiar Community Development." Since the beginning of this year, Yangpu Community has adhered to the principle of "serving neighbors and facilitating life," leveraging the Party-mass service site at Dongfang International Plaza to explore and promote the socialization and market-oriented operation of community public spaces, using a series of considerate measures to fill the "happiness gap" in modern family life.
The Dongfang International Plaza complex comprises over 600 households across apartment and residential buildings, with growing demand for household services such as hourly cleaning, appliance repair, and minor alterations. Based on the local situation, Yangpu Community upgraded the original 150-square-meter Party-mass service facility, developing version 2.0 of the Dongfang International Plaza Party-mass service point. Focusing on residents' household service needs as a starting point, the community established the "Yi Man Fang" neighborhood station.
The station is arranged as a multi-functional household service environment integrating Party-building leadership, social participation, and commercial services. It routinely provides residents with "one-stop" domestic life services right at their doorstep, breaking the limitations of traditional community services and the narrow scope of property management services. In one corner of the neighborhood station, a shared tools area is set up, where some residents have proactively shared seldom-used equipment from their homes, such as wrenches, air pumps, and electric drills, thereby freeing up home space while benefiting their neighbors.
The "Yi Man Fang" neighborhood station is an innovative measure by Yangpu Community to collaborate with diverse social forces within its jurisdiction to build a community service ecosystem. Following the principles of "resource integration, multi-party participation, and market-oriented operation," the community actively cultivates "station partners." To date, it has successfully attracted 12 co-construction brand merchants, including Mario Daojia, offering nearly 100 specific household life services across 9 major categories, including housekeeping services, home installation, minor repairs, and public convenience services.
Concurrently, an online service platform via a WeChat mini-program has been launched, featuring compact and practical applications for service inquiries, appointment booking, quality assurance, and after-sales service. Digital empowerment makes these services more convenient and efficient. Serving as a new starting point for the community's efforts in Party-building-led familiar community development, the "Yi Man Fang" neighborhood station not only provides household services to residents but also creates employment opportunities for community artisans.
A certain percentage of the income will be reinvested into community public welfare, achieving community "self-sustainability" and killing multiple birds with one stone. A representative from Yangpu Community stated that in the next step, the community will continue to enhance its Party-building service brand "Cultivating Yangpu, Nurturing Homes." They will strive to develop the "Yi Man Fang" neighborhood station into a "convenience hub" for young people's social interactions and discussions, a "joyful garden" for children's learning and growth, and a "warm workshop" for seniors' leisure activities, ultimately building a modern neighborhood "new harbor" and a "happiness circle" for community life.
