With the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays approaching, China United Airlines announced on September 23 that it will ramp up flight capacity and optimize route scheduling during the festive period. The carrier plans to operate 2,825 flights, offering over 543,400 seats, with total capacity investment reaching approximately 814 million seat-kilometers.
In terms of travel demand, flights from Beijing Daxing to popular tourist destinations such as Zhoushan, Xingyi, Xiangxi, Jingzhou, Lanzhou, Ulanhot, and Daqing are seeing exceptionally strong sales, with multiple services experiencing sold-out conditions. Meanwhile, flight volumes and ticket purchases for routes serving cities including Foshan, Wenzhou, Chengdu, and Ordos have also posted notable growth.
High load factor routes are primarily concentrated in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Chengdu, and Shenzhen, with travel momentum continuing to heat up on routes from Beijing to Urumqi, Xiamen, and Jieyang. In response to the surge in holiday travel demand, China United Airlines will increase capacity deployment on key routes based on market conditions, including plans to add frequencies on services from Beijing Daxing to Yichun, Baicheng, Yanji, Zhoushan, Lanzhou, Jieyang Chaoshan, and Ningbo, as well as from Wenzhou to Changchun.
On the international and regional front, as the winter-spring schedule approaches, China United Airlines is planning to launch several new routes to Southeast Asia, further enriching outbound travel options for passengers. To enhance the overall travel experience, the airline will launch a voluntary inter-airline ticket transfer pilot program for the Beijing Daxing to Guangzhou Baiyun route on September 24, allowing passengers to voluntarily transfer their tickets with the first transfer exempt from service fees.
