China Chunlai Education Acquires Dublin Business School for $127.5 Million

China Chunlai (01969) announced on August 5, 2026, that it has entered into a share purchase agreement with Kaplan International UK Holdings Limited to acquire Dublin Business School.

Under the agreement, China Chunlai, acting as the buyer, has conditionally agreed to purchase all issued shares of Accountancy & Business College (Ireland) Limited, along with intellectual property to be transferred by Kaplan Inc. upon completion.

Prior to the agreement, a notification was submitted to Ireland's Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment regarding the acquisition under the country's foreign direct investment laws. On July 30, 2026, the department confirmed that the acquisition does not require a review and can proceed.

The target company, incorporated as a private limited company in Ireland, operates Dublin Business School as a recognized higher education institution accredited by Ireland's Quality and Qualifications Authority. It offers on-campus bachelor's and master's degree programs. The target group includes the company and its wholly-owned subsidiary based in Malaysia.

The total consideration for the share purchase and intellectual property transfer amounts to $127.5 million, equivalent to approximately HK$1 billion.
