On October 24, 2025, the Beijing CBD CITY New Wave event officially kicked off. This time, the CBD is aiming to capture the hearts of young people by hosting a Guzi party and a RAP CBD competition. The limited-time pedestrian street at Zhongjun World City is now open. Spanning approximately 150 meters, the pedestrian zone has transformed into a trendy area, featuring numerous cosplayers who interact closely with visitors against a backdrop of carefully arranged traditional and futuristic designs. Many young people have also prepared animation and gaming character costumes to showcase themselves and socialize.
"The CBD is not just home to glamorous office buildings; it understands young people very well," said Ms. Zhang, a post-00s worker from the nearby area, who took some time off after work to check it out with colleagues. Under the many white tents, creative cultural goods were popular, including original wearable armor, antique jewel fragments, Song brocade, wire-wrapped original stone jewelry, and porcelain-themed items.
The Taikang Art Museum and the Shanghai Animation Film Studio brought classic domestic animated film merchandise related to titles like "Wangwang Mountain Little Monster," "Havoc in Heaven," and "Nezha Conquers the Dragon King." Local businesses, including Canon (China), Wahaha carrying Fush (China), and Xiushui Street Building, also participated in the market.
The CBD limited-time pedestrian street is the first of its kind in the city. Since June of this year, a variety of events, including craft beer festivals, carbohydrate festivals, and global food carnivals, have been regularly held here, adding vibrancy to the business central area. During the 2025 Beijing CBD CITY New Wave event, a classic photography competition and the RAP competition will also be featured on the limited-time pedestrian street. The classic photography competition has been held for six consecutive years, with categories this year including culture, landscape, light and shadow in Chaoyang, global CBD, and short video.
The RAP CBD competition, in collaboration with rap clubs from universities like Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Communication University of China, will launch the "Rap CBD" golden song, attracting more young music enthusiasts to the CBD. This year, the 2025 Beijing CBD CITY New Wave event includes nearly 20 special activities from over ten buildings and commercial entities in the area and will continue until the end of November.
