Oi Wah Pawnshop Credit Holdings Limited released its FY26 (1 Mar 2025–28 Feb 2026) Environmental, Social and Governance Report, outlining stable environmental metrics, conservative risk assessments and new medium-term carbon-reduction goals.
Environmental Performance • Power consumption remained the group’s dominant energy use. Electricity demand rose 8.7 % year on year to 127,016.83 kWh, lifting energy-intensity 4.5 % to 2,442.63 kWh per employee, yet scope 2 emissions slipped 0.8 % to 50.57 tCO₂e owing to a lower grid-emission factor. • Total reported greenhouse-gas emissions (Scopes 2 and 3) were essentially flat at 53.02 tCO₂e (FY25: 52.95 tCO₂e). • Non-hazardous waste increased to 0.60 tonne (FY25: 0.46 tonne), driven by higher paper use and cyclical bulk purchases of plastic security bags. Waste intensity rose to 0.011 tonne per employee. The group generated no hazardous waste. • Water use remains “minimal and immaterial”; quantitative disclosure is not provided due to low volumes.
Climate Strategy and Targets • Board-level oversight is in place, supported by an ESG Committee that reports at least annually. • Scenario analysis using SSP5-8.5 and IEA pathways judged both physical (typhoon, flooding, heat) and transition risks (electricity cost, potential carbon pricing) as low for the largely office-based business. • New absolute emissions goal: cut gross GHG output 10 % from the FY26 baseline (53.02 tCO₂e) by FY31—without reliance on carbon credits. • Resource-efficiency targets aim to keep energy- and waste-intensity between 90 % and 120 % of FY26 baselines through FY30.
Social Metrics • Workforce totalled 52 employees, all in Hong Kong; turnover was 3.85 %, with zero female departures. • Training reached 15.38 % of staff, averaging 0.28 hour per employee; senior management averaged 1.64 hours. • No work-related fatalities or lost-time injuries recorded in the past three years. • Compliance: no breaches of employment, health-and-safety, environmental, privacy or anti-corruption regulations; no corruption cases or significant customer complaints.
Governance and Stakeholder Engagement • Material issues prioritised include customer data protection, anti-corruption, resource use and employee welfare. • Regular engagement spans HKEX, regulators, investors, employees and community groups; feedback channels remain open via corporate website and dedicated email.
Outlook Oi Wah will continue to focus on incremental efficiency gains—paperless workflows, energy-saving measures and strengthened flood-prevention protocols—to meet its 2030–31 sustainability targets while maintaining compliance and stakeholder trust.
