持有临时许可证的秘鲁矿工已暂停封锁主要铜运输路线的抗议活动，抗议领袖路易斯·瓦曼周二表示。这一行动结束了持续两周多的堵塞，旨在施压政府延长许可期限。瓦曼称，抗议将至少暂停至周五，以便与政府代表会谈；若结果不利，矿工将立即恢复封锁。
秘鲁政府正努力终结所谓的“非正式”矿工计划，该项目十年前设立为临时方案，但工人抱怨合法化法规过于严苛。抗议始于六月下旬，蔓延全国，包括在库斯科地区堵塞道路，影响五矿资源（MMG 1208.HK）、嘉能可（GLEN.L）和哈德贝矿业（HBM.TO）等主要企业——这些公司位列秘鲁前十铜生产商。
作为全球第三大铜生产国，秘鲁能源和矿业部计划年底前规范超过31,000名非正式矿工。本月初，该部已从计划中移除50,000多名矿工，其中至少45,000人近四年无任何活动记录。
