Recently, Xingguo County in Jiangxi Province hosted a series of major cultural activities, including the "Two Sessions" meetings, provincial city basketball leagues, the "Celebrate Hakka New Year in Ganzhou" event, and the "Jiangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Fair." The Xingguo County Market Supervision Bureau, leveraging its functions and through careful planning, implemented high-standard and stringent measures to ensure food safety in catering services during these events, achieving zero errors and zero incidents. Given the high profile, large participation, and strict requirements of these activities, the bureau intervened early by developing detailed safeguard plans and emergency response protocols. In advance, inspectors conducted comprehensive evaluations and pre-event checks of catering units tasked with reception duties. Key areas reviewed included menu offerings, health status of employees, procurement and storage of food ingredients, food processing environments, and utensil cleaning and sanitization. Potential risks were identified and eliminated, and catering units signed Food Safety Responsibility Commitment Letters for Major Events to reinforce accountability. During the events, inspectors maintained on-site supervision with real-time monitoring of food preparation processes. Every step—from ingredient inspection and documentation to cooking, sample retention, utensil hygiene, and food waste disposal—was strictly controlled. Collaborative efforts with relevant departments enabled rapid screening of pesticide residues in vegetables, moisture content in meats, and cleanliness of dining utensils, adding an extra layer of protection. Emergency response protocols were also strengthened to ensure swift and effective handling of any irregularities. To date, the bureau has deployed over 100 inspectors to safeguard more than ten major events, achieving comprehensive and seamless food safety coverage. Moving forward, the bureau will use these experiences to enhance daily supervision, improve emergency response capabilities, and further strengthen food safety defenses, ensuring the smooth operation of future events and protecting public dietary safety.
