On August 23rd in Shanghai, a multilingual immersive themed restaurant officially opened at The Bund Old Government, quickly becoming a new landmark for inbound tourists to experience Chinese culture through its innovative "dining + technology + culture" fusion model.
The restaurant has creatively introduced panda chef "Cheng Baobao" as a multilingual culinary guide, leading international visitors on an in-depth exploration of specialty cuisines and cultural heritage from China's seven major geographical regions. Through interactive projection technology, the restaurant integrates iconic landscapes such as Jiangnan gardens into the dining environment, complemented by smart tabletops that enable interactive experiences like calligraphy and virtual fishing.
Additionally, the restaurant innovatively incorporates traditional art performances including Jiangnan water sleeve dance, martial arts, and Sichuan opera face-changing into the dining scenes. Notably, the restaurant also provides professional costume changing services featuring Hanfu, qipao, and Miao embroidery. Foreign tourists can experience "ancient-style transformation" upon arrival after successful reservations, achieving an immersive "time travel" from modern urban settings to traditional Chinese cultural scenes.
Trip.com Group founder Liang Jianchang stated, "This is not just about dining, but rather a fantastic journey through China. Here, you can taste all seven major Chinese cuisines at once, and China's local customs and cultural spirit are all contained in this one meal. Our menu is like a Chinese culinary passport, allowing global tourists to taste their way through China, understand China, and completely fall in love with China."
