Motorists should fill up now. At 24:00 on September 11th, the 18th oil price adjustment of the year will take effect, and tonight could see another sharp increase of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter.
Following the last hike of over 0.29 yuan per liter, 2026 has now seen 11 price increases compared to just 5 decreases. Over the first eight months, gasoline prices have already surged by more than 1.32 yuan per liter. With international crude oil closing up over 3.25% this morning, today's increase is set to expand significantly.
Driven by continued gains in global oil markets, the crude oil change rate has reached 5.89%, projecting a price hike of 330 yuan per ton. Based on this, gasoline and diesel prices will rise by 0.25 to 0.30 yuan per liter tonight. With less than 48 hours until the adjustment, September 12th will see prices at the new, higher levels.
After tonight's increase, 95-octane gasoline is nearing the "9 yuan era." Currently, most regions have already priced 95-octane at 8.60 yuan per liter following the last hike. With tonight's rise of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter, tomorrow's 95-octane price will approach the symbolic 9 yuan mark.
