ZhiTai TiPlus 7100s SSD Sees Stealth Price Hike of 30–100 RMB Just One Week After Launch

Deep News

The ZhiTai TiPlus 7100s SSD, released on November 10, initially offered three capacity options—1TB, 2TB, and 4TB—with starting prices from 659 RMB.

Just a week later, the product has quietly undergone price adjustments, increasing by 30 to 100 RMB: - 1TB version: 689 RMB (up 30 RMB) - 2TB version: 1159 RMB (up 60 RMB) - 4TB version: 2099 RMB (up 100 RMB)

As an upgraded iteration of the ZhiTai PCIe 4.0 TiPlus 7100 SSD, the TiPlus 7100s boasts sequential read speeds of up to 7400MB/s and sequential write speeds of 6900MB/s. According to official specifications, it utilizes Yangtze Memory’s Xtacking 4.0 TLC NAND flash, with random read speeds reaching 1500K IOPS (a 66% improvement over the previous generation) and random write speeds hitting 1500K IOPS (a 114% increase).

Reports of rising storage prices have circulated for some time. In October, South Korea’s Economic Daily cited industry sources stating that major suppliers like Samsung and SK Hynix had informed clients of plans to raise DRAM and NAND flash prices by up to 30% in Q4 2025.

New Daily reported in late October that surging demand for data center storage, driven by the AI boom, has led to severe shortages in high-capacity SSDs. Production lines at leading NAND manufacturers—including Samsung, SK Hynix, and Kioxia—are operating at full capacity, yet supply remains insufficient, with some high-capacity SSD models facing delivery delays exceeding a year. Enterprise-grade products of 8TB and above are particularly scarce, with orders reportedly booked through late next year.

Market research firm TrendForce attributes the SSD supply crunch to explosive growth in data storage demand fueled by AI advancements, overwhelming global data center infrastructure.

Reuters reported on November 14 that Samsung Electronics had significantly raised prices for certain memory chips this month, with increases of up to 60% compared to September levels, amid tight supply due to global AI data center expansion.
