Qnity Electronics Inc has announced the launch of its Optivision™ Max polishing pad series, expanding its portfolio of chemical mechanical planarization products. This new series is specifically engineered for sophisticated semiconductor fabrication processes, aiming to assist chipmakers in maintaining precise control, boosting yields, and enhancing process efficiency amidst increasingly demanding production stages.

As semiconductor devices continue to shrink in size and grow in structural complexity, chemical mechanical planarization has become critical for achieving the precision required for reliable device performance. The Optivision™ Max polishing pads represent a comprehensive upgrade over the previous Optivision™ series, delivering significant improvements in defect control and pad service life.

Sanjay Kotha, Vice President and General Manager of Qnity's Chemical Mechanical Planarization Technology division, stated that advanced processes and evolving device architectures are introducing unprecedented complexity challenges to semiconductor manufacturing. The Optivision™ Max pads exemplify the company's ongoing commitment to advancing chemical mechanical planarization solutions, helping customers meet the higher performance and quality demands of next-generation technologies.

As Qnity's latest commercially available soft polishing pad, Optivision™ Max is suitable for critical chemical mechanical planarization steps involving copper barrier layers, bulk copper, and buffer layers, enhancing surface quality, process stability, and reliability. The series is compatible with a wide range of chemical mechanical planarization applications and can be customized according to specific client requirements.

The first commercial product, Optivision™ Max 8300, is now available globally for customer sampling and orders, offering various configuration options, including versions with an integrated endpoint detection window.
