Rambus (RMBS) shares surged 6.38% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, joining a broad rally across the storage and memory chip sector.

The rally was sparked by bullish analyst commentary, particularly UBS more than tripling its price target on memory chip giant Micron Technology. The firm cited the emergence of long-term supply agreements that will structurally transform earnings profiles across the industry. Analysts highlighted that hyperscalers have already secured approximately 60% to 70% of industry server DDR5 volumes under these enhanced agreements, providing stability and demand visibility.

Memory remains a critical backbone for artificial intelligence, with demand forecast to outstrip supply through 2026-2027, creating strong tailwinds for companies in the space like Rambus. The positive outlook for HBM, DRAM, and NAND memory chips, coupled with the sector-wide recovery, drove investor optimism and buying activity.
