On February 25, SAIC-GM-Wuling General Manager Juncheng Lu delivered a New Year's address outlining the company’s performance through 2025 and its strategy for 2026. He highlighted that over the past five years, the "iconic vehicle" family achieved cumulative production and sales of 8.32 million units. In 2025, the company sold 1.635 million vehicles, an increase of 6.2%, with new energy vehicle sales exceeding 1 million units, up 31.9%. Overseas exports reached 267,000 units or sets, growing 18.6%, and annual output value returned to the 100-billion-yuan level.

Lu stated that the core strategy for 2026 is to build a full-lifecycle digital platform. By leveraging "AI + digital twin" technology, the company aims to evolve from "user profiling" to "user data twinning" for precise demand identification. Strengthening core capabilities in intelligence, electronics and electrical architecture, and software will shorten R&D cycles and improve quality.

He also emphasized the creation of an integrated system comprising "Manufacturing Island + Digital Island + Smart Island." The Manufacturing Island will refine the island-style development system, enabling scientific deconstruction and upgrades of island-based manufacturing along with key ecosystem coverage. The Digital Island will use digital twins to build consistent virtual-physical counterparts at the production line, workshop, and base levels, achieving end-to-end digital integration driven by market demand. The Smart Island will leverage AI technology to develop decoupled processes, reconfigurable production lines, and adaptive capacity within a twin-intelligence framework.

Additionally, Lu pointed out the need to establish a "five-in-one" system to achieve "four optimizations" and "four-flow integration," reducing costs and improving efficiency. The company aims to complete the construction of a pilot-level smart factory within two years and achieve iterative upgrades of the Smart Island manufacturing system along with systemic governance reforms within three years.
