周五早晨，特朗普在Truth Social平台上发文称：“一个强大的国家，就意味着更低的利率——这代表着更优的信用评级……道理再简单不过了！我们应当拥有全球最低的利率，就像‘过去的好时光’那样。若不是美国点头允许他们享有巨额贸易顺差——而我们随时可以叫停这一切——他们根本配不上‘金融精英’的名号！要么降低利率，否则我将停止与那些对我们有贸易逆差的国家往来。”
他继续向美联储及其新任主席凯文·沃什提出建议：“美联储理事会，与其那位出色的新掌舵人，必须清醒起来——这次请做一回‘爱国者’。高利率让美国处于极其不利的竞争地位，我绝不会坐视这种情况发生！”
