Major Auto Groups Report Strong August Sales Surge

The automotive market in August defied seasonal trends, with major Chinese auto groups including Geely Automobile, Chery Automobile, and Great Wall Motor collectively achieving robust sales growth and creating multiple historical records. Overall, the new energy vehicle segments of many major automotive groups are experiencing rapid development, while overseas markets continue steady expansion. Driven by these two new engines - new energy vehicles and overseas markets - domestic automotive groups are accelerating their progress toward becoming world-class automotive conglomerates.

**BYD Company Limited: Overseas Sales Surge 146.4% Year-over-Year**

In August, BYD Company Limited sold 373,600 vehicles, essentially flat compared to 373,100 units in the same period last year. This month, BYD passenger vehicles sold 371,500 units, including Dynasty|Ocean series at 342,800 units, Leopard at 16,300 units, Denza at 12,000 units, and Yangwang at 405 units.

With initiatives such as Seagull entering the Salvadoran market in August and comprehensive upgrades to the sales and service network layout in Finland, BYD's overseas market sales continued climbing. August overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickup trucks reached 80,500 units, representing a 146.4% year-over-year increase. For January-August, BYD achieved cumulative sales of 2.864 million units, with overseas cumulative sales of 630,700 units. BYD's cumulative new energy vehicle sales have exceeded 13.4 million units.

**SAIC Group: Monthly Sales Achieve Eight Consecutive Months of Year-over-Year Growth**

SAIC Group sold 363,000 vehicles in August, up 41% year-over-year and 7.7% month-over-month. Since the beginning of this year, led by the "three driving forces" of independent brands, new energy vehicles, and overseas markets, SAIC has achieved eight consecutive months of year-over-year monthly sales growth.

In August, SAIC's independent brands sold 232,000 units, up 49.5% year-over-year, with SAIC passenger vehicles reaching 75,000 units, up 78.5% year-over-year. Joint venture brands also maintained rapid growth, up 28.3% year-over-year.

In overseas markets, SAIC sold 88,000 units in August, up 10.5% year-over-year; cumulative sales for January-August reached 664,000 units, up 2.3% year-over-year.

SAIC's new energy segment has shown strong momentum this year, with August sales reaching 130,000 units, up 49.9% year-over-year. IM Motors achieved nearly 6,600 units, up 42.9% year-over-year; SAIC passenger vehicles sold 22,000 new energy vehicles, surging 208.6% year-over-year; SAIC Maxus new energy vehicle sales exceeded 4,600 units, up 25.1% year-over-year; SAIC-GM sold over 10,000 new energy vehicles, up 87.5% year-over-year; and SAIC-GM-Wuling new energy vehicle sales reached 74,000 units, up 52.8% year-over-year.

For January-August, SAIC achieved cumulative vehicle wholesale sales of 2.753 million units, up 17.9% year-over-year.

**FAW Group: Vehicle Sales Exceed 277,800 Units**

In August, FAW Group's vehicle sales exceeded 277,800 units, up 3.7% year-over-year. Independent brands sold over 77,000 units, up 15.3% year-over-year; independent new energy sales exceeded 34,800 units, up 66.9% year-over-year.

Specifically, FAW Hongqi achieved over 40,000 units in August, up 3.5% year-over-year, with new energy product sales up 23.6% year-over-year; FAW Jiefang held 23.0% of the domestic medium and heavy truck market terminal share for January-August, ranking first in the industry; FAW Besturn sold 15,900 vehicles in August, up 49.5% year-over-year, with new energy sales surging 122.4% year-over-year.

Joint venture brands achieved 200,800 units in August. FAW-Volkswagen realized vehicle sales of 135,800 units in August, up 4.2% year-over-year; FAW Toyota sold 70,100 new vehicles, up 103% month-over-month.

For January-August, FAW Group achieved cumulative sales exceeding 2.081 million units, up 5.5% year-over-year.

**Geely Automobile: New Energy Monthly Sales and Penetration Rate Both Hit New Highs**

Geely Automobile's passenger vehicle sales reached 250,200 units in August, up 38% year-over-year and 5% month-over-month, achieving six consecutive months of both year-over-year and month-over-month growth. Geely brand sold 205,300 units; Lynk & Co brand achieved 27,200 units; Zeekr brand reached 17,600 units.

In new energy vehicles, Geely's August new energy sales (including Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr brands) reached 147,300 units, up 95% year-over-year and 13% month-over-month, with new energy penetration reaching 59%, a historical high. Geely Galaxy achieved 110,700 units in August, up 173% year-over-year, setting a new record, supported by multiple models including Geely Xingyuan, Galaxy E5, and the new Galaxy A7.

Additionally, in fuel vehicles, Geely Xingrui achieved 94,700 units in August, with cumulative sales exceeding 800,000 units in the first eight months of this year.

For January-August, Geely achieved cumulative sales of 1.897 million units, up 47% year-over-year, representing 63% completion of the annual sales target. New energy cumulative sales reached 1.003 million units, surging 120% year-over-year.

**Chery Group: August Exports of 129,500 Units, Creating New Monthly Export Record**

Chery Group sold 242,700 vehicles in August, up 14.6% year-over-year. Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. sold 230,800 vehicles, up 12.3% year-over-year.

By brand, Chery brand achieved 162,400 units in August; Exeed brand reached 7,659 units; Jetour brand achieved 54,200 units; iCAR brand reached 4,820 units.

In new energy transformation, Chery Group sold 71,200 new energy vehicles in August, up 53.1% year-over-year.

In exports, Chery maintained high-speed growth, exporting 129,500 vehicles in August, up 32.3% year-over-year, creating a new monthly export record and achieving four consecutive months of exports exceeding 100,000 units.

For January-August, Chery Group achieved cumulative sales of 1.727 million units, up 14.5% year-over-year. Chery brand achieved cumulative sales of 1.079 million units, breaking through the one million unit threshold at the fastest pace in history; in exports, maintaining China's automotive export leadership, the group achieved cumulative exports of 798,800 units, up 10.8% year-over-year.

**Changan Automobile: New Energy Sales Up 80% Year-over-Year**

In August, "new central state-owned enterprise" Changan Automobile achieved sales of 233,000 units, with new energy sales reaching 88,000 units, up 80% year-over-year; overseas sales reached 56,000 units, up 23% year-over-year.

Deepal Auto continued deploying in overseas markets including Egypt, Mexico, Nepal, and Paraguay, delivering 28,200 new vehicles globally in August, up 40% year-over-year and 4% month-over-month. Deepal S5 delivered 12,200 units, achieving three consecutive months of sales exceeding 11,000 units.

Avatr achieved 10,600 units in August, up 185% year-over-year, with six consecutive months of sales exceeding 10,000 units. Changan Qiyuan achieved 37,300 units in August, up 98% year-over-year.

**BAIC Group: Vehicle Sales Exceed 135,000 Units**

BAIC Group's sales performance continued warming, with August vehicle sales exceeding 135,000 units, up 3.3% year-over-year. Independent brands sold over 83,000 units, up 24.5% year-over-year; joint venture brands achieved 52,000 units; overseas market sales reached 24,000 units, up 15.4% year-over-Year.

Beijing Off-road achieved 13,200 units in August, up 43% year-over-year, with five consecutive months of sales exceeding 10,000 units. BAIC New Energy sold 13,500 units in August, up 3.47% year-over-year, with Arcfox achieving 10,600 units in August.

For January-August, BAIC Group achieved cumulative vehicle sales of 1.07 million units, up 5.3% year-over-year. In new energy vehicles, BAIC New Energy achieved cumulative sales of 95,400 units for January-August, up 83.2% year-over-year; Arcfox achieved cumulative sales of 75,500 units, surging 110.5% year-over-year.

**Great Wall Motor Company Limited: Best August in History!**

In August, Great Wall Motor Company Limited sold 115,600 new vehicles, up 22.33% year-over-year, creating the best August sales performance in history. Haval brand sold 68,900 units, up 22.69% year-over-year; WEY new energy sold 8,028 units, up 167.51% year-over-year; Tank brand welcomed the launch of the all-new Tank 500, achieving 20,000 units in August, up 22.46% year-over-year; Ora brand sold 5,223 units, up 21.47% month-over-month; Great Wall Pickup sold 13,300 units, with global cumulative sales reaching 2.812 million units.

In new energy performance, Great Wall sold 37,500 new energy vehicles in August, up 50.92% year-over-year.

With the official completion and production launch of Great Wall's Brazil factory, Great Wall's high-quality overseas expansion pace continues accelerating, with August overseas sales reaching 45,200 units, up 11.65% year-over-year, creating a new historical high.

For January-August, Great Wall achieved cumulative sales of 789,700 new vehicles, up 5.94% year-over-year.

**Dongfeng Motor: Sub-brands Both Show Growth**

In August, Dongfeng's eπ Technology achieved 29,100 units, up 62.39% year-over-year and 4.89% month-over-month, with two consecutive months of positive growth. For January-August, eπ Technology achieved cumulative sales of 163,800 units, up 36.6% year-over-year.

In the same month, Dongfeng's Voyah delivered 13,500 units, up 119% year-over-Year, achieving seven consecutive months of growth. For January-August, Voyah achieved cumulative deliveries of 81,800 units, up 92% year-over-year.

Recently, Dongfeng Group announced that Voyah will be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange through introduction, building momentum for Voyah to create the "first brand of high-end new energy among central state-owned enterprises."

**GAC Group: GAC Aion Sales Slightly Up Month-over-Month**

GAC Aion achieved 27,000 units in August, realizing slight month-over-month growth. In August, GAC Aion added 34 charging stations and 736 charging piles, maintaining first place on the new energy brand self-built fast charging pile rankings. Currently, GAC Aion has built 1,732 self-operated charging stations with 19,129 charging piles, covering 204 cities.

Recently, to help boost Aion sales recovery, the AION V Home Tyrannosaurus Family Edition was launched with refreshed features.
