During the Spring Festival holiday period from February 15 to 23, the Ruili immigration border checkpoint recorded a total of 111,800 inbound and outbound passenger trips and 11,400 vehicle crossings at the Ruili Port on the China-Myanmar border. These figures represent year-on-year increases of 7.5% and 8.8%, respectively.
Located in Ruili City, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, the Ruili Port is a national-level land port handling the largest flow of people, vehicles, and goods along the China-Myanmar border. It borders Myanmar's Pang Hseng, Muse, and Namhkam to the east and south, serving as a vital link between the two countries. The port functions as a crucial hub for cross-border family visits, cultural exchanges, and economic cooperation.
During the holiday, passenger flow primarily consisted of Chinese nationals returning home for family reunions, outbound travelers visiting relatives and friends, and Myanmar tourists entering China to experience Lunar New Year celebrations. Passenger traffic peaked on February 15, with over 15,300 crossings recorded through the port's main gate and China-Myanmar Street channels, marking the highest single-day volume during the festival.
To manage the surge in travel, the Ruili immigration border checkpoint issued guidance and passenger flow alerts, maximized inspection lane availability, and improved clearance efficiency. Additional measures included setting up flexible checkpoints and express lanes at high-traffic crossings such as Zhangfeng Port, Nongdao, Leiyun, and Lameng to ensure smooth transit for freight vehicles.
