此前这家铁流长时储能（LDES）系统制造商宣布与非营利公共电力机构 Salt River Project 签署长期电池供应协议。该新协议名为 Project New Horizon（新地平线项目），将使 ESS Tech 向电网增加一套 5 兆瓦、50 兆瓦时的电池系统。
根据协议条款，这套新系统将安装在美国亚利桑那州弗洛伦斯的 Salt River Project 铜十字能源与研究中心（Copper Crossing Energy and Research Center）。ESS Tech 将通过一份为期 10 年的储能协议 向 Salt River Project 出售容量。该系统能够储存足够的电能，为 1,125 户平均规模家庭提供 10 小时用电。
ESS Tech 临时首席执行官 Kelly Goodman 表示：“SRP 再次展示了其在非锂、长时储能领域的领导力。该项目对 LDES 行业和 ESS 作为技术提供商都是一次重要的验证。我们非常高兴能够与 SRP 合作，为其客户提供更多小时的清洁能源。”
