Reddit股价周五上涨超过14%，此前标普道琼斯指数公司宣布，这家社交媒体平台将加入基准指数标普500指数，取代AvalonBay Communities。
摩根大通（J.P. Morgan）的分析师估计，跟踪标普500指数（.SPX）的指数基金将需要买入约1,670万股Reddit（RDDT）股票。
根据伦敦证券交易所集团（LSEG）的数据，自Reddit于2024年3月上市以来，其股票日均成交量约为598万股。这意味着，为满足纳入标普500指数带来的配置需求，指数基金需要买入的股票数量接近Reddit日均成交量的3倍。
标普道琼斯指数公司表示，合并完成后，合并后的公司将更名为Vivmark Residential，并将继续留在标普500指数中。
Stephens分析师梅丽莎·罗伯茨（Melissa Roberts）表示，从历史表现来看，新纳入标普500指数的公司通常会从宣布纳入到正式纳入期间跑赢基准指数，其中最大的涨幅通常出现在宣布消息后的第二天。
不过，在正式纳入指数之后，这些股票通常会回吐部分涨幅，并且在接下来的三个月内平均落后基准指数约2%。
