During the 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Sohu.com's founder, chairman, and CEO Charles Zhang shared his perspectives on balancing entrepreneurship with personal passions.

When asked how he manages to run a company while also hosting physics lectures and writing books, Zhang emphasized the importance of adopting the right mindset. "Life must be lived actively—you have to keep doing things passionately. That’s crucial," he said. He believes in pursuing what excites you, staying busy, and avoiding perfectionism. By swiftly transitioning between tasks without overthinking, one cultivates discipline.

Zhang attributes this discipline to working with genuine enthusiasm. Engaging in activities that spark interest, combined with recognizing the long-term compounding value of effort, allows for seamless multitasking without procrastination—boosting overall efficiency.

"Maintain a certain level of exhaustion rather than idling all day. If you stay active, you’ll sleep deeply in less time, freeing up more hours to accomplish even more. It’s a positive cycle," Zhang advised.

The discussion highlighted Zhang’s philosophy of proactive living, where passion-driven productivity fuels both professional and personal growth.
