4月7日，据路透社报道，消息人士表示，SpaceX计划于五月底公开其首次公开募股招股说明书。SpaceX计划于6月8日当周启动IPO路演。SpaceX计划在其IPO路演启动前一天，面向整个承销团的125位财务分析师举行线上会议。
SpaceX IPO面向散户的配售规模将“非常庞大”，公司将在更接近交易实施时敲定最终的交易结构。SpaceX计划邀请1500名散户投资者参加6月11日举行的大型活动。一位主承销商向各银行表示，SpaceX的IPO将催生前所未见的散户需求与配售规模。
消息人士称，SpaceX IPO计划在英国、欧盟、澳大利亚、加拿大、日本和韩国面向散户投资者发售股票。SpaceX首席财务官约翰森表示：“零售投资者将成为此次发行的关键组成部分，其占比将超过历史上任何一次IPO。”
