波士顿联储主席苏珊·柯林斯周三表示，她认为中央银行应在最近连续两次会议上削减利率后，保持利率稳定，以确保通胀朝着美联储2%的目标下降。
柯林斯指出，支持上个月降息的原因是，夏季期间低于预期的就业形势风险有所增加。然而，她表示，当前对于近期进一步降息，“相对有较高的门槛”，部分原因是自夏季以来，这些下行风险似乎并没有增加。
柯林斯是今年美联储利率制定委员会的投票成员。今年还有三位其他的银行行长也对在12月的美联储会议上降息表示担忧，除非有新的信息表明劳动市场状况恶化或价格压力减轻。
她表示：“鉴于我的基本预期，出于平衡通胀和就业风险的考虑，在这一高度不确定的环境中，政策利率可能适合保持在当前水平一段时间。”她补充道：“在我们能够评估自九月以来政策累积放松的某些效果之前，确保通胀持续朝着2%的轨迹回归似乎是谨慎的，才会在调整我们的政策立场之前进行进一步的评估。”
