Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa announced on Thursday that the automaker has set up a "war room" to mitigate potential chip shortages linked to issues with Dutch semiconductor firm Nexperia.
"We are closely monitoring Nexperia's chip supply situation on a daily basis," Filosa stated during an analyst call discussing Q3 earnings.
When asked whether Stellantis faces challenges similar to Volkswagen's, Filosa responded, "We are implementing daily measures and contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted production."
Volkswagen had earlier warned of possible production halts due to chip shortages.
Filosa emphasized, "This is a global industry-wide issue requiring daily management."
The Dutch government took control of China-backed Nexperia last month over intellectual property concerns, while China restricted exports of finished products needed by European automakers. Industry groups have flagged potential disruptions to automotive production.
