Byte Metaverse Holdings Limited (“BYTE META”, 08645) has announced a board reshuffle effective 1 June 2026. Independent Non-executive Director (INED) Shen Haipeng will resign due to other business and personal commitments. Concurrently, Shen will vacate his roles as chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Audit Committee.
The Board has appointed Tan Chenhui, aged 50, as Shen’s successor. Tan will serve as: 1) Independent Non-executive Director 2) Chairman of the Remuneration Committee 3) Member of the Audit Committee
Tan brings more than 23 years of experience in business operations, internet technology, marketing and corporate management. His career includes senior positions at Horizon Research Consultancy, 360doc Personal Library, Yahoo China, HouseWeb, Meituan.com, Beijing Pengle Investment Management, and entrepreneurial leadership at Beijing Kenisi Network Technology. Since 2023 he has been General Manager of Huabei Tianshi Company Limited, a PRC-based software development and marketing firm.
Governance and Term Details • Tan has signed a one-year appointment letter commencing 1 June 2026; the term renews annually unless either party gives three months’ notice. • Annual remuneration is set at HK$0.12 million, determined with reference to company performance and prevailing market conditions. • Tan meets all independence criteria under GEM Listing Rule 5.09 and holds no shares or financial interests in BYTE META.
Board Composition Post-Change Following these adjustments, BYTE META’s board comprises: • Executive Directors: Yu Decai (Chairman), Tian Jia • Non-executive Director: Jin Yangyang • Independent Non-executive Directors: Ng Der Sian, Tan Chenhui, Zheng Li Ping
