Recent data from Canalys, a leading global technology analysis firm, shows that China's PC market (excluding tablets) demonstrated strong performance in Q2 2025, with shipments reaching 10.2 million units, representing a 12% year-over-year increase. Both consumer and commercial demand surged, growing 13% and 12% respectively. In this growth wave, LENOVO GROUP (00992), as a global PC giant, continues to consolidate its leading position in the Chinese market, with particular attention on its AI PC sector deployment. Meanwhile, the tablet market also welcomed an 18% year-over-year growth, reaching 9.1 million units in shipments, with Lenovo maintaining competitiveness in the fiercely competitive market through its diversified product strategy.

The report indicates that this quarter's PC market growth was primarily driven by government consumer subsidies and strong procurement from state-owned enterprises and government agencies. In Q2 2025, Lenovo continued to maintain its leadership position in China's PC market, with desktop and laptop shipments reaching 3.4 million units, up 13% year-over-year, with market share increasing to 34%. Lenovo has consistently occupied a leading position in the domestic PC market through its rich product portfolio, reliable product quality, and extensive sales channels.

In the AI PC sector, China's market experienced explosive growth, with AI PC shipments accounting for 28% of the overall PC market in Q2 2025. According to LENOVO GROUP's latest financial report, in Q1, Lenovo's AI PCs with "five major AI features" accounted for 27% of total laptop shipments in the Chinese market; globally, Lenovo's AI PC shipments have exceeded 30% of total PC shipments.

The tablet market also performed impressively, with shipments growing 18% year-over-year, totaling 9.1 million units this quarter, though competition intensified. Through its Tab series products, Lenovo targets gamers, creators, and casual users, using AI functionality and specification upgrades as differentiation selling points, achieving a 54% annual growth rate with market share increasing to 8%.

Looking ahead, Canalys predicts China's PC market will grow 2% year-over-year in 2025 and 3% in 2026, primarily driven by subsidies and device replacement demand. AI PC penetration rates will rapidly increase, reaching 34% in 2025 and further rising to 52% in 2026. By the end of 2029, Greater China is expected to cumulatively ship approximately 107 million AI PCs, establishing a solid installed base for widespread AI application usage.

In this growth momentum, Lenovo, as a key player, will see its globalization strategy and AI deployment determine its growth trajectory in the coming years. Canalys Senior Analyst Emma Xu stated that the government's formal release of the "AI+" action plan in August will accelerate local AI infrastructure construction and the proliferation of edge devices (including AI PCs), while also driving the commercial implementation of AI agents and assistants on these devices in the coming years. Against this backdrop, device commercialization by manufacturers like Lenovo will also enter a golden period.
