On Friday, select semiconductor stocks moved lower against the broader market trend. As of press time, NVIDIA (NVDA.US) declined more than 2%, while AMD (AMD.US) dropped over 4%.
On the news front, Trump announced that the U.S. government will impose tariffs on imported products from semiconductor companies that fail to relocate production to the United States. He emphasized that companies with existing U.S. investments or concrete factory construction plans would be exempt from these tariffs. Trump indicated that the tariff rates would be "substantial, but not excessive."
