U.S. Department of Energy Mandates Indiana Coal Units to Continue Operations

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has ordered NIPSCO, a subsidiary of NiSource (NI), and CenterPoint Energy (CNP) to maintain over 950 megawatts of coal-fired generating capacity beyond their originally scheduled retirement dates. This directive aims to bolster the reliability of the MISO grid until March 23rd.
