货运铁路运营商CSX运输近日裁撤了166个管理岗位，此次裁员规模约占该公司3000余名管理人员总数的5%。
公司发言人表示，此次裁员决定是基于对当前市场环境及公司成本结构的全面评估后作出的。受影响员工将获得离职补偿方案及职业过渡辅导服务。
这家总部位于佛罗里达州杰克逊维尔的铁路企业业务覆盖密西西比河以东23个州，全美员工总数约2.3万人。其大部分员工由铁路工会代表，主要从事列车乘务、机车驾驶、轨道维护及信号系统等一线作业。
去年CSX运输曾面临激进投资者的压力，对方要求其寻求与其他铁路公司合并或更换首席执行官。去年9月，公司正式由史蒂夫·安吉尔接替乔·欣里奇斯出任CEO。
此次人事震荡的背景是，联合太平洋铁路公司此前以715亿美元收购了CSX的直接竞争对手诺福克南方铁路，由此组建美国首家横贯大陆的铁路运营商。
