ASMPT (00522) fell more than 4%, trading at HK$83.25 by press time with a turnover of HK$295 million. The decline follows the company's Q3 2025 results, which showed revenue of HK$3.66 billion (up 9.5% YoY) and new orders totaling HK$3.621 billion (up 14.2% YoY). However, the semiconductor equipment maker reported a net loss of HK$268.6 million, swinging from a profit in the year-ago period.
The HK$269 million loss primarily stemmed from HK$371 million in restructuring costs and inventory write-offs related to the voluntary liquidation of its subsidiary, Advanced Semiconductor Equipment (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (AEC).
For Q4, ASMPT expects revenue between US$470 million and US$530 million, representing sequential growth of 6.8% (midpoint) and a 14.3% YoY increase. Analysts at Huatai Securities noted that while one-time factory closure costs impacted Q3 results, the upbeat Q4 revenue guidance and continued progress in advanced packaging products for 2026 remain positive factors.
