Prudential plc has reported the cancellation of 395,464 ordinary shares repurchased on May, 26 2026 under its ongoing share buy-back programme.
The shares were acquired on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging between GBP 11.295 and GBP 11.43 per share, for an aggregate consideration of approximately GBP 4.48 million. All the repurchased shares have been earmarked for cancellation.
Following this cancellation, Prudential’s issued share capital fell to 2,522,155,232 ordinary shares from 2,522,407,154 previously, a decrease of about 0.01 per cent.
In addition, a further 1,009,365 shares bought back on May, 21–26 2026 remain pending cancellation.
The transactions form part of the company’s share repurchase mandate approved on May, 14 2025, which permits the buy-back of up to 262,668,701 shares. To date, 91,027,362 shares—equivalent to 3.49 per cent of the shares outstanding at the mandate date—have been repurchased.
Under Hong Kong Stock Exchange rules, Prudential is restricted from issuing new shares until Jun, 25 2026.
