Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART, 02888) disclosed that on 30 September 2026 the bank repurchased 356,496 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange and CBOE Europe (BXE and CXE). The repurchase price ranged from GBP 23.04 to GBP 23.61 per share, bringing total consideration for the day to GBP 8.30 million and implying an average cost of approximately GBP 23.28 per share. All shares bought are to be cancelled.

Including purchases on 28 and 29 September that also await cancellation, 1,071,153 shares—equivalent to roughly 0.05 % of the current issued share capital—are pending removal from the register.

The company’s issued share capital therefore remains unchanged at 2.18 billion ordinary shares as of 30 September 2026, with no treasury shares held. Cancellation of the pending shares will lower the share count once processed.

The repurchases form part of the authority granted by shareholders on 7 May 2026, allowing the bank to buy back up to 221.63 million shares before the 2027 AGM. Since that mandate was approved, STANCHART has acquired 38.98 million shares, representing 1.76 % of the share base at the mandate date.

All transactions were executed outside the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the company confirms compliance with the relevant rules of each venue.
