The construction project for the waterfront section of the General Cargo Terminal in the North Zone of Binhai Port Area, part of YANCHENG PORT, has officially begun. The project, undertaken by China Communications Shanghai Waterway Engineering Bureau, primarily involves dredging works, hydraulic structures, power supply and lighting systems, control systems, water supply and drainage, firefighting facilities, and necessary temporary construction works within the designated scope.
The development includes the establishment of one new 5,000-ton general cargo berth, designed with a structure capable of accommodating 40,000-ton cargo vessels, one 20,000-ton heavy-lift berth within an excavated basin, and one 2,000-ton general cargo berth. The total berth length will be 438 meters, with an designed annual throughput capacity of 1.02 million tons.
Upon completion, the project will address the functional gap for large-scale general cargo handling at Binhai Port Area, significantly enhancing the port's comprehensive service capabilities. By establishing a modern transportation network that integrates waterway and land routes, it will provide crucial logistics support for industries such as petrochemicals and equipment manufacturing in the port-proximate area.
