Yancoal Australia Ltd's stock soared 5.08% during intraday trading on Wednesday, following the company's release of its first quarter 2026 operational update.

The surge appears to be driven by investor confidence after Yancoal maintained its full-year 2026 attributable saleable production guidance of 36.5 Mt to 40.5 Mt, despite reporting slightly softer quarterly metrics including lower run-of-mine coal output, saleable production, and attributable sales volumes compared to a year earlier, alongside a lower average realised coal price of A$146 per tonne versus A$157 per tonne.

The unchanged guidance suggests the company's operational plans remain intact for the rest of the year, providing reassurance to investors about Yancoal's ability to manage through current market conditions and deliver on its production targets.
