Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited (296) Announces Major Disposal of Precious Metal

Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited (Stock Code: 296) has reported a major transaction involving the disposal of 79.00 kg of gold bricks. On 4 February 2026, the company sold these precious metals to Heraeus Metals Hong Kong Limited for HK$99.70 million. The original carrying value was HK$9.40 million, resulting in an estimated gain of HK$90.20 million. According to the announcement, the disposal follows a shift in hotel design plans and aims to unlock capital while saving on future security and insurance expenses.

The proceeds are expected to strengthen the company’s financial position. The transaction has been classified as a major transaction under Hong Kong Listing Rules, and it has already gained written approval from the controlling shareholder, fulfilling the necessary requirements without convening a general meeting.
