InnoScience's stock plummeted 5.04% intraday, extending losses from regular trading as the company faces continued selling pressure from H-share full circulation unlocks.
The decline is primarily attributed to the unlocking of approximately 374 million H shares, which were approved for listing and trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Early-stage private equity shareholders, who entered at a cost of around 22 HKD per share, retain over 200% unrealized gains at current levels, driving financial investors to reduce holdings in batches.
Additionally, the stock surged over 11% on the prior trading day, leaving substantial short-term profit-taking positions and prompting investors to lock in gains. Notably, InnoScience markedly underperformed the broader semiconductor sector, which saw gains, highlighting that individual stock-level supply pressure remains the dominant factor suppressing its price action.
