CleanSpark Shares Surge After Bitcoin Miner Joins Pivot to AI

Shares of CleanSpark, Inc. surged as much as 4% after the Bitcoin miner announced that it was expanding into date-center infrastructure and the hiring of Jeffrey Thomas from Saudi Arabian AI firm Humain.

The Henderson, Nevada-based company is among crypto miners that are trying to kick start the build-out of AI data centers with their existing assets such as large amounts of power and experienced engineers.

Strategy Purchases 168 Bitcoin for $18.8M in Past Week

Strategy disclosed Monday another modest weekly purchase of bitcoin, buying 168 tokens for a total of $18.8M during the Oct. 13-19 period.

The average purchase price for the latest batch was $112,051 per coin at Oct. 19, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The coins were acquired with proceeds from the (STRF) at-the-market program, as well as the (STRK) ATM and (STRD) ATM.

The Michael Saylor-founded treasury company's total BTC holdings rose to 640,418, valued at ~$71B, with an average purchase price of $74,010.

Ark Invest Reduces Stake in Roblox by Selling 27,399 Shares

Ark Invest, led by Cathie Wood, has recently sold 27,399 shares of Roblox Corporation. This transaction is valued at approximately $3.694 million. The decision to reduce the stake in the gaming company was reported by Ark Invest Tracker.

SharpLink Gaming Appoints New Senior Executives

SharpLink Gaming has announced the appointment of three industry veterans to its senior management team. Mandy Campbell has been named Chief Marketing Officer, Matthew Sheffield as Chief Investment Officer, and Michael Camarda as Chief Development Officer.

Mandy Campbell previously served as the Head of Marketing at Bain Capital Crypto, where she was responsible for marketing digital assets and early-stage crypto venture funds. Matthew Sheffield led U.S. spot trading and managed the OTC trading desk for digital assets at FalconX. Michael Camarda comes from Consensys, where he was responsible for strategic development, including capital raising and mergers and acquisitions.

Japan’s FSA May Permit Banks to Buy, Hold Crypto and Operate Exchange Services

The Japanese financial regulator is considering to allow banks to purchase and hold digital currencies such as Bitcoin for investment.

Per a report by Yomiuri, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) will present the proposal at a working group meeting of the Financial Services Council.

Further, the reform aims to align crypto management with traditional financial products, including stocks and government bonds. Additional regulations to ensure stability is under consideration, the report read.

Bitcoin Spot ETF Flow

The overall net outflow of the US Bitcoin spot ETF on Monday was $40.47 million. The total net asset value of Bitcoin spot ETFs is $149.66 billion, and the ETF net asset ratio (market value compared to total Bitcoin market value) is 6.76%.

The Bitcoin spot ETF with the highest net outflow on Oct. 20 was iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, with a net outflow of $100.65 million, according to SoSoValue.
