The Market Supervision Administration of Jieyang City has publicized a typical case from the fifth batch of 2026. Case 11 involves a Jieyang-based e-commerce business department suspected of selling medical devices online without displaying the required medical device registration certificates, failing to complete change registration procedures, and operating beyond the approved business scope.
In March 2025, the Jiedong District Market Supervision Administration initiated an investigation based on transferred leads. The investigation revealed that the operator was selling condom products, classified as medical devices, both through physical stores and an online platform. On the online platform, the operator failed to display the Medical Device Registration Certificate of the People's Republic of China as mandated. Furthermore, the operator's Business License did not include medical devices within its approved scope of business.
These actions violated Article 10 of the Medical Device Online Sales Supervision and Management Measures. In April 2025, the Jiedong District Market Supervision Administration, pursuant to Article 5, Paragraph 2 of the Administrative Penalty Law of the People's Republic of China and Article 40 of the Medical Device Online Sales Supervision and Management Measures, ordered the operator to rectify the violations and issued an administrative warning as a penalty.
