Southern Alliance Mining Ltd. said on Nov, 21 2025 that its 40%-owned associate, MCRE Resources Sdn Bhd, has been ordered by Malaysia’s Minerals and Geoscience Department to halt rare-earth mining activities in Hulu Perak for three weeks.

The temporary suspension, dated Nov, 13 2025, is intended to allow Malaysian authorities, including the Department of Environment, to investigate a recent water-discoloration incident in Sungai Perak. Southern Alliance Mining noted that MCRE’s operating licence remains valid.

The company added that MCRE is fully cooperating with regulators and adhering to its approved Environmental Impact Assessment. Based on current information, Southern Alliance Mining does not expect the short-term suspension to materially affect the group’s financial performance.

The board said it will monitor developments and provide further updates if required.
