On August 28, the Standing Committee of Hezhou City People's Congress in Guangxi Province issued an appointment and dismissal list, deciding to appoint Cheng Zhao as Deputy Mayor of Hezhou City.

Cheng Zhao, male, Han ethnicity, born in December 1984 in Chibi, Hubei Province, began working in December 2012 and joined the Communist Party of China in May 2005. He holds a PhD in Engineering.

According to public records, Cheng Zhao graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marine Technology from the College of Information Science and Engineering at Ocean University of China in 2007. In 2012, he obtained his doctorate in Underwater Acoustics Engineering from the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

After graduation, he was selected to work at the General Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government. Subsequently, he served as Deputy County Magistrate of Luzhai County in Liuzhou City, Standing Committee Member and Executive Deputy County Magistrate of Zhongshan County in Hezhou City, Deputy Party Secretary and County Magistrate of Zhongshan County. In September 2024, he was appointed as Party Secretary of Zhongshan County.
