More than 350 cultural events were held to celebrate the New Year and bring blessings to the public, involving over 3,000 artists from the capital who went into local communities. Nearly 180,000 sets of Spring Festival couplets and character "Fu" scrolls, along with 11,000 pieces of folk art, were distributed to residents. The Beijing Municipal and District Federations of Literary and Art Circles organized a rich variety of these cultural activities, serving nearly 200,000 people. These efforts created a joyful, peaceful, and culturally rich Spring Festival atmosphere, receiving widespread acclaim.
Reaching out to grassroots communities, the events delivered "artistic New Year goods" to workers. Focusing on tri-regional coordination, the Beijing Federation collaborated with its counterparts in Tianjin and Hebei to host a series of cultural activities titled "Bringing Blessings to Millions of Homes" across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The initiative kicked off at the Beijing Tianqiao Art Center, where artists from the three regions performed together on stage. Over 800 frontline workers, including construction workers, couriers, and sanitation workers, were invited to attend the performances. In Tianjin's Jizhou District and the Xiong'an New Area, more than a hundred artists visited construction sites, central state-owned enterprise compounds, and local communities, jointly writing "Fu" characters and presenting excellent performances. Traditional art forms such as Peking opera, Pingju, and Hebei Bangzi were staged in succession, promoting the sharing and co-creation of high-quality cultural resources.
Emphasizing art for the people, the activities gave special attention to new employment groups and frontline workers. The Beijing Federation organized capital artists to visit sites including public welfare project construction sites, courier and food delivery industries, ride-hailing service stations, and domestic service sectors. More than 40 special events, including慰问演出, calligraphy and painting gatherings, and intangible cultural heritage experiences, were held for new employment groups who remained at their posts during the Spring Festival, conveying care and warmth from the municipal Party committee and government.
Cultural benefit activities entered the headquarters of Meituan. There, diverse art forms such as Jingyun drum singing, acrobatics, crosstalk, and clapper talk were performed. Delivery riders transitioned from being "senders" to "guests of honor," enjoying exclusive "artistic New Year goods" amidst laughter and joy. In Beijing's Haidian District, domestic service workers experienced a "mini-temple fair" brought to their doorstep for the first time, allowing them to soak in the strong festive atmosphere and receive hearty New Year blessings. At a construction site in Dongcheng District, 12 master calligraphers wrote Spring Festival couplets on site for over a hundred migrant workers who stayed in Beijing for the holiday. The workers received the "Fu" characters with both hands, their faces beaming with happy smiles. In the name of art, the Beijing Federation paid sincere tribute to those laboring on the front lines during the Spring Festival, genuinely enhancing their sense of gain, happiness, and belonging.
The Beijing New Year Concert attracted nearly ten thousand spectators. Focusing on the capital's functional positioning and serving the construction of a national cultural center, the Beijing Federation, together with the China International Culture Exchange Center, the Beijing Municipal Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee, and the Beijing Daily Press Group, held the 22nd Beijing New Year Concert at the Great Hall of the People under the theme "People's Festival, World's Spring Festival." Nearly ten thousand attendees, including international friends from Belt and Road countries residing in Beijing, representatives from 56 ethnic groups, and relevant parties, were invited to watch the performance.
The event "Chinese New Year Pictures Collection · Encounter · International Style Temple Fair" was held at the Beijing Olympic Museum, the National Stadium, and the Olympic Center. Linked with the ongoing 15th Bird's Nest Happy Ice and Snow Season, it featured four core sections: an Ice and Snow Winter Olympics carnival, a "New Life · New Trends · New Year Pictures" exhibition, an international style temple fair, and a display of Beijing's intangible cultural heritage and creative products. Through diverse formats, it created new scenarios for Spring Festival cultural consumption, offering capital residents a festive feast combining Winter Olympics passion, traditional New Year flavor, and international style.
Focusing on excellent traditional culture and new quality productive forces, the cultural benefit activities of the Beijing Federation were innovative and outstanding. Spring Festival temple fairs are a vibrant载体 of Beijing's New Year customs, while poetry and couplets are brilliant gems of China's excellent traditional culture. The Beijing Federation and the Beijing Couplets Association, under the theme "New Era, New Beijing, New Trends," collected over 4,600 couplet works, selected 400 outstanding pieces, and brought them, along with popular cultural content like riddle guessing and poetry, into Beijing's major temple fairs.
On February 14th, the event "Steed Celebrating the New Year, Brilliant Chinese Year – Poetry, Couplets, and Riddles Enter the Temple Fair" launched at the Changdian Temple Fair in Xicheng District. Fun activities such as rewarded poetry and couplet matching, riddle contests, and custom Spring Festival couplet creation sparked enthusiastic participation and widespread praise from tourists and citizens nationwide. At the event site, calligraphers wielded their brushes to send blessings and inscribe couplets, while rewarded sentence matching, riddle guessing, and micro-lectures on poetry and couplet knowledge made cultural heritage something that could be "touched and enjoyed," not just "seen."
Cultural benefit activities entered the Beijing R&D headquarters of Li Auto. Focusing on new quality productive forces and promoting the integrated development of art and technology, the Beijing Federation actively fostered the fusion of literature, art, and technology, continuously delivering high-quality artistic services to science and innovation parks and high-tech enterprises in sectors like automotive, pharmaceuticals, and artificial intelligence. At Li Auto's Beijing R&D headquarters, artists from fields like calligraphy, fine arts, and folk art engaged in face-to-face exchanges with tech workers, hosting a "New Year Flavor" cultural fair and a Spring Festival greeting brush meeting. At the International Pharmaceutical Innovation Park, using a "main venue + branch venues" format and centered on the idea of "scientific innovation empowering culture, culture nourishing scientific innovation," participants witnessed the cross-border integration of traditional folk customs and cutting-edge technology together with park innovators.
High-quality resources from federations at all levels formed a powerful synergy. Emphasizing linkage and integration, the Beijing Federation adopted a "1+N" format for the events: one landmark opening ceremony plus 350 cultural benefit activities. This approach pooled优质 resources from federations at various levels, creating a strong合力 for promoting the prosperous development of Spring Festival culture. At the Capital Museum, master calligraphers wrote on site, allowing visitors to receive hand-written "Fu" characters while viewing exhibitions. Federations in Dongcheng and Xicheng Districts delved into the cultural vein of Beijing-style culture, deeply integrating the local烟火气 with traditional culture. Those in Chaoyang, Haidian, and Fengtai Districts highlighted the empowering role of art, focusing on business districts, sci-tech innovation enterprises, and new employment groups, blending diverse content to showcase the warmth of literature and art. Federations in Shijingshan and Mentougou Districts centered on immersive traditional cultural experiences, deeply exploring cultural resources of western Beijing, and integrating New Year customs, intangible cultural heritage, calligraphy, painting, and photography to create immersive experiences. The Federation in the Economic-Technological Development Area, based on its role as a main阵地 for regional scientific and technological innovation, injected strong cultural动力 into technological self-reliance, self-improvement, and high-quality development. The Daxing District Federation focused on groups such as persons with disabilities and families in difficulty, organizing care assistance visits and cultural benefit services. The Fangshan District Federation emphasized the theme of city creation, carefully creating and distributing thematic couplets to the public to convey civilized concepts through ink and brush. Federations in Tongzhou, Shunyi, Changping, Huairou, Pinggu, Miyun, and Yanqing Districts went deep into grassroots levels including streets, townships, communities, and villages, delivering warmth and care directly to people's doorsteps through on-site creations and sending blessings to the countryside.
