On September 30, just before the National Day holiday began, Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport surpassed 10 million passenger trips 29 days earlier than last year, delivering a remarkable "ten-million-level" result.
As of that day, passenger throughput reached 10.04 million, up 11.5% year on year, ranking second among China's 41 ten-million-level airports in terms of growth rate; the flight load factor reached 89%, holding the top spot among all ten-million-level airports nationwide, with more than 40 days during the summer travel season seeing a load factor above 90%.
As an important pole of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei world-class airport cluster, Shijiazhuang Airport has continued to focus on building a premium airport featuring "trunk-branch connectivity and full-network linkage."
Since the beginning of this year, Shijiazhuang Airport has continuously improved its route network and increased flight operations, operating a total of 133 passenger routes, including 10 international routes, connecting 88 cities, and handling 68,000 passenger flights cumulatively for the year, up 10% year on year. It has improved its connecting and intermodal transport system, vigorously promoted through-flights, registered more than 8,800 through-flight combinations cumulatively, and implemented a series of convenience measures such as direct baggage transfer and one-time payment for overweight baggage. The two major segments of connecting transfers and air-rail intermodal transport each broke the one-million mark two months earlier than last year, reaching 1.38 million and 1.21 million passenger trips respectively, up 41% and 34% year on year. These two types of intermodal passengers accounted for 26% of total throughput, achieving coordinated improvement in hub functions, operational quality, and the ability to attract and retain passengers.
