At the 2026 China Entrepreneur Future Star Annual Meeting held in Guangzhou from July 10th to 11th, the theme was "The Moment of Leap." WeiJing Technology founder and CEO Zheng Jun shared his insights.
He noted that the domestic intelligent driving sector has been in a state of intense competition over the past few years. Some products have even inappropriately used consumer-grade chips for automotive applications, with industry hype often outweighing substance.
With the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introducing regulations that formally designate the technology as intelligent assisted driving, the industry is accelerating its return to rationality.
Zheng Jun emphasized that the quality of automotive-grade chips is determined during the design phase, not through later-stage testing. He pointed out that within the chip industry, production scale constitutes the core competitive advantage. Without sufficient volume, a company lacks leverage within the supply chain.
Looking ahead to the next phase of competition in autonomous driving chips, he called for the industry to adhere to specialization and collaboration, allowing experts to focus on their respective areas of expertise.
