Citigroup released a research report stating that CHINA MOBILE may encounter some short-term pressure during its transformation process. However, in the long run, this shift is viewed positively as it positions the company to capitalize on an autonomous Agent-driven tokenized business model. The firm maintains a "Buy" rating with a target price of HK$105.1.

CHINA MOBILE held its 2026 Mobile Cloud Conference on May 8. The event brought together top Chinese regulatory bodies, local governments, state-owned enterprises, research institutions, and industry leaders, focusing on topics such as computing power infrastructure, domestic AI localization, and AI Agent commercialization.

Key highlights from the conference included the adoption of tokenization as a monetization strategy for its computing power, model services, and AI applications; the expectation that token consumption will be driven by autonomous Agents; the emphasis on full-stack localization and computing power synergy as core requirements; and the strategic pivot towards becoming a comprehensive technology services provider.
