As one of the first batch of grid-side independent new-type energy storage station demonstration projects in the autonomous region, the Delingshan 500kV energy storage station in Urad Middle Banner has seen all operational indicators meet design standards since it was put into operation, with the project running smoothly and in an orderly manner.
The project represents a total investment of 380 million yuan, with a planned 100MW/400MWh energy storage system and a supporting 220kV booster station, giving it strong energy storage dispatch and operational capabilities.
Recently, reporters visited the Delingshan 500kV energy storage station, where rows of energy storage cabins are neatly arranged and power equipment is dispatched and operated in an orderly fashion. The main control screen displays real-time operating parameters, providing round-the-clock dynamic monitoring of equipment conditions and grid loads. Operations and maintenance staff strictly implement safety production requirements, routinely carrying out equipment inspections, hazard investigations and daily maintenance, promptly addressing various safety risks to ensure the station operates safely, stably and efficiently.
"After the project was put into operation, it can supply 100,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per hour for four consecutive hours, with an average annual power generation of about 130 million kilowatt-hours and an annual reduction of 130,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions," said Wang Zaijin, station chief of the Delingshan 500kV substation.
The Delingshan 500kV energy storage project is one of the first batch of grid-side independent new-type energy storage demonstration projects in the autonomous region. Since officially entering operation, the project has relied on mature energy storage technology and a comprehensive operations and maintenance support system to effectively address shortcomings in regional grid regulation, continuously improving the grid's peak-shaving capacity and new energy consumption level, steadily advancing the optimization and upgrading of the banner's energy industry structure, and injecting a continuous stream of momentum into regional green and low-carbon development.
Energy storage stations act like a "flexible reservoir" for the power grid. With the help of intelligent control systems, they precisely address the intermittent and fluctuating nature of wind and solar power generation, converting intermittent clean energy into stable and reliable high-quality electricity and effectively improving the comprehensive utilization efficiency of green power.
"The project can store electricity during peak periods of new energy generation and release it during low-demand periods, effectively easing the pressure on regional new energy consumption, comprehensively enhancing the grid's flexible regulation capacity and operational stability, and boosting the large-scale development and utilization of clean energy," said Wang Zaijin, station chief of the Delingshan 500kV substation.
Next, Urad Middle Banner will continue to leverage the advantages of the energy storage demonstration project, keep opening up the entire chain of new energy development, storage and transmission, accelerate the building of a safe, efficient, clean and low-carbon modern energy system, and use the vigorous development of the green energy industry to help drive high-quality economic and social development across the banner.
